Kirkin’ O’ the Tartan

Presented by the

Gold Country Celtic Society

Sunday, November 15, 2026, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Trinity Episcopal Church

Nevada and High Streets, Nevada City

The Kirkin’ (Scots tongue for Churching) is a worship

service of traditional content, but with special significance

to those of this heritage.

Central to its theme is the presentation

of the tartans of clans. Trinity’s Rector, Fr. Brad Helmuth,

conducts the service, which is enhanced by the

sound of bagpipes, the singing of hymns, and the

presentation of the seven Celtic nations’ flags.

Guests are encouraged to bring a Celtic token to be blessed.

Refreshments to follow.
